Want Some Answers ???

Hi Raymond

>>Thanks for your reply. I have been thinking about it and am going to paraphrase it back to you if that's alright I just want to understand what your reply. So in a nutshell.

The pre flood ocean did have salinity though the amount of salt and volume of the ocean is unknown. However God created fish that were capable of surviving in both salt and fresh water. The flood occurred and many marine organisms died the remaining creatures adapted to there new surroundings in this case fresh or salty water. I believe that would be your anwer some what shortened.<<

I may not know exactly what the earth was like just after creation, but I do know God has all knowledge, power and wisdom so the creation was perfect. He called it "very good" [Gen.1:31]. So it must have been truly beautiful and awesome, with no problem of decay, death, & sickness as today. Man and creatures were made to live, not die. They must have been better than today. And the climate, soil, air, water and food perfect, no with imbalance.

But today, we see creatures struggling to survive and extinctions etc. And while there is still beauty to be seen – flowers, birds of paradise, tropical fish, butterflies, etc and order, balance and wonder. Yet now, there is abundant evidence that this world is not the paradise it once was.

There are animals ripping each other apart, suffering, death, sickness everywhere. Yet animals with sharp teeth that eat grass (not each other), with claws that dig burrows (not used as weapons). There are creatures that can live in the snow because not all their kind has short hair. And fish in the ever increasing salty seas having to live with it. But we don't see them growing legs and walking out of the water.

>>I do have a question though on how you are defining evolution? Your comments "slow extinction of creatures that we see today is proof evolution is not happening" and "ability to tolerate large changes in salinity was very likely present in most fish at the time of the Flood. Although, this ability is lost now to many fish - the opposite to evolution." Would fit my general idea of evolution i.e in the case of the first slow extinction of animals today results from the fact that they are not adapted to their environment and other species more suited to their environment are pushing them out. So if you please provide more detail to the above two comments that would be great.<<

The bible says God created organisms to reproduce "after their kind" Eg. The 'dog kind' has created in it a large amount of built-in variation. By breeding we get many types of dog. Some confuse that with evolution but its not Darwinian evolution. No new information is added to develop new features. Natural selection can 'cull and sort' this information but cannot create any more. The changes are only within the limits of the original information in that kind.

We might call that a 'thinning' of the gene pool but it's not going to result in up-hill evolution, ie., an ameba into an armadillo. It's not the sort of information-adding change necessary for the net gain of complexity that molecules-to-man evolutionists claim has happened.

What we see often is devolution. Ie., a beetle or bird can lose the information in it's genes or DNA to grow wings. So it can survive better on a windy Island than those that fly and get blown off into the sea. But once this information is lost its not added back, to grow wings again.

What we see are 'mutations', they are passed on. Many sicknesses relate to inherited genes which make one prone to illness. Mutations can cause deformity but not the up-hill evolution Darwin taught. Cows don't change into whales. Apes don't become men.

What we see is 'adaptation'. Some creatures are more suited to a cold environment while those that live in a hot climate wouldn't survive, and likewise. Some adapt to the environment in which they find themselves. Eg, a population of plants has a mix of genes for the length of its roots. Expose that population over generations to repeated spells of very dry weather, and the plants most likely to survive are the ones which have longer roots to get down to deeper water tables. So, the genes for shorter roots are less likely to get passed on. In time, none of these plants will any longer have genes for short roots, so they will be of the ‘long root’ type. They are now better adapted to dry conditions than their forebears.

Darwin's belief is that there were virtually no limitations. If new varieties of plant, or dog could arise then given enough time a totally new creature would appear. He did not know how heredity really works, but we should know better. He did not know how complex a simple cell is, he thought they just come out of the dirt by chance. And he did not know about the information on the DNA.

>>You mention the Fossil Record so the flood covered the whole world soall around the world there must be a layer in the fossil record that contains a lot of dead humans, dinosaurs, fish and other animals. Where might abe able to go and see this layer? (After all seeing is believing) I live in NZ too.<<

There are a number of mass extinctions taught by evolutionists, they try to link them with extinction of species, millions of years apart. They interpret the geological layers as - one layer per year. That's what I was taught in school. But now some scientists are saying Noah's Flood best explains the layers, which were laid down fast. And the fossils, living creatures buried fast without oxygen or time to decompose and disintegrate.

The Mount St Helens eruption in Washington State produced eight metres (25 feet) of finely layered sediment in a single afternoon! And experts have now studied sedimentation in the laboratory and discovered that fine bands form automatically as the moving water transports different sized particles sideways into position. Surprisingly, the thickness of each band was found to depend on the relative particle sizes rather than on the flow conditions.

Other signs of Noah's Flood are seen with Polystrate tree trunks. These are fossil trees that go through thousands of layers. Dead trees would have decayed long before a thousand years. Also bent columns – wet before they dried or they would have broken or cracked. And missing columns also. And the many fossil graveyards around the world of millions of creatures buried all together, mixed up, twisted bones, and crushed. And the huge oil and coal fields and buried forests. What we see are millions of dead things buried in rock lays, laid down by water, all around the world.

>>The comments you make about the origin of information and DNA are very insightful thanks. I will definitely follow them up by asking an evolutionist for an explination. Cheers and thanks for your help Raymond<<

No problem, thanks for the question. Keep in mind the theory of evolution is plastic, and it changes. No matter what the evidence, it can fit into the theory. Like a religion, based on assumptions, ideas and stories.
