Jehovah's Witnesses

Hi Terrie

I see you're not the free thinker you make out. You follow the Watchtower on the main doctrines. And even if you “have a different conscience point of view ” that “does not mean the society is wrong or that (you are) wrong”. You wrote,

>>I don't care when you reply or even if you do reply. I just wanted to state my point of view. If you get back to me I'm not going to reply to you. I only have time for my ministry which as you will recall Jesus instructed us to do……And I also do not have to defend my belief's to you. I know it's the truth that's all I need to know.<<

No, I do 'care' and are concerned even if you're not. I'm happy to do a weekly Bible study with you in order to further discuss what exactly JW's believe. If I can ask questions on topics I fail to understand, you and fellow JW's can prepare the topics.

I thought Jesus also '
instructed' us not to hide 'the truth' but 'defend' it. Surely 'the truth' must be tested (1 The.5:21 Jas.1:12. 2 Cor.13:5). What we 'need to know' is that if we are not "born of God" we don't have 'the truth' or God's Spirit (Jn.14:17, 15:26, 16:13). After all, 'the truth' "will set you free" (Jn 8:32). You wrote,

>>I don't have so much time to waste on things of such unimportance such as yourself. You are not concerned with our beliefs at all<<

I am 'concerned', but suspect you don't want a discussion. Do JW’s have no time for anyone who questions what they believe? I think what I said is true, JW's follow the Watchtower Society and not the Bible. They tell you what to believe, think and do. You're thinking has been done for you. You wrote,

>>All I try to do is look to the bible as closely as possible<<

Well, let’s see if that is true. The Bible says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast” (Eph 2:8-9 see also Rom.4:5, 5:8-11,17,19. 2 Tim.1:9. Tit.3:4-8. Jn1:29 6:44. Rev.13:8. Heb.9:22. 1 Pet.2:24. Col.1:20). The Watchtower demands you work for them to earn salvation by doing what they say. But the Bible says salvation is by grace - a free gift.

Do you really “
try to…look to the Bible as closely as possible”? Jesus would disagree. He said, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (Jn.3:3). After 50 years of hard labour and knocking on doors for the Watchtower, you won’t even “see the kingdom of God”. Have you had this spiritual rebirth? Jesus said, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”. (Jn 3:6). Without this new birth, you won’t make it. Jesus said, 'You must be born again.' (Jn.3:7). “The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” (Rom 8:16). Do you follow the Watchtower Society or the Bible?

Open up your NWT. Look inside the front cover, notice it’s published by the Watchtower Society. The same people, who publish all the other publications you read and believe. They tell you what’s true, not the Bible. They say , unless you follow them, you "will not progress along the road to life no matter how much Bible reading you do" (p.27 The Watchtower Jan.12th 1981). You say,

>>..our high standards and that most people cannot live up to…. Of every religion I have looked into every one I have had serious disagreements with.<<

Religious sects always try to work for salvation by ‘high standards'. True Christianity is different from religion. The Watchtower Society is clearly a religious system of doctrines, rules, commands, and human effort to be reconciled with God. All human attempts to be reconciled to God are religion. The gospel is the exact opposite. God Himself acts and moves towards men. You wrote,

>>YOU have just confounded the fact that I have the truth that's why I am such a happy person.<<

How can anyone be a truly 'happy person' if they’re not 'born again' or may not even 'see' God's kingdom? Today I have this assurance, which you don't have (Rom.5:1). You follow the Watchtower, I follow a Person who has given me eternal life already (1 Jn.5:13). Jesus said “I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me” (Jn.14:6). He is the Way (the way is not a religious system). He is the Truth. Just because you're a happy person it doesn’t mean you have 'the truth'. The truth is not a feeling, it's not a system of doctrines. When you come to Christ and accept Him as your Saviour, you have 'the truth'. And He’s the Life - eternal life (Eph.1:7 Jn.11:26). Should we base our belief on God’s Word, or a religious Society, or feelings? You wrote,

>>Most witnesses probably wouldn't respond to you BA's.<<

Yes you are happy to share but not discuss. Certainly the Watchtower Society wouldn’t want me to tell you what I know. The Watchtower claims to be God’s voice on earth today and we must only listen to it (p.439 The Watchtower Jul.15 1960, pg.127. The Watchtower Ap.15 1943). So you are supposed to read certain books and avoid others and avoid Christian churches. You wrote,

>>Actually you have made it easier for me at the doors because now when I meet a BA I know the objections that person will bring up. And I can do my research to prove them wrong. Thankyou very much.<<

And now you've read more, and even more thankful. If I made 'it easier', then I doubt you have ‘researched’ apart from reading Watchtower publications. If you read the scholars of the NT Greek and OT Hebrew and Bible experts, you will find none of them are JW’s. Watchtower publications selectively quote from Kittel and Vine and other scholars. Yet no scholar is a JW, they hold the opposite to Watchtower doctrine.

Watch out for the Watchtower Society Terrie, is more deceptive than you realize. It will turn your life in to bondage to them and keep God’s blessing from you. I want the best for you, they don’t. If there’s anything I can help with don’t hesitate to write.

"Avoid independent thinking....How is such independent thinking manifested? A common way is by questioning the counsel that is provided by God's visible organization" (pg.98 The Watchtower Jan.15 1983)
