Hi Jared

It seems you ignore serious problems with Mormonism. Your mind is made-up and none can change it. It seems you blindly accept without question what others would reject. Your faith in Mormonism is indefensible. To these statements you reply -

>>Quite strong statements from one who has not known me or my journey which somewhat points to your agenda, not mine. I don't actually believe I have made any such judgements against you or your faith. What would be the point of me correcting my beliefs to someone who already claims to know them so well and, based off such value judgements, would not accept them if I did?<<

But you wrote, “I’ve never felt the need to defend my faith”. Yes the problems of your faith in Mormonism are ignored. To me, a faith not worth defending is not worth believing. Reasons why Mormonism is unbelievable you ignore and side track. You won’t refute them, but take it personally.

Why? Because Mormonism redefines words and blinds people to truth. Eg., you equate ‘faith’ in Mormonism with faith in God. That’s a misguided faith, not a TRUE or biblical faith. Not a ‘saving faith’ as in the bible. For me, my faith is not in ‘my beliefs’, ‘my journey’, or ‘judgements’. Nor even in ‘Christianity’.

None can have a real saving faith unless they are born again, as defined biblical. Faith should be in what Christ did on the cross and the understanding of what that means (biblically). Jesus said you MUST be born again.

Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (Jn.3:3,7)

God regards all men under judgement and dead in sin (Eph.2:1 Rom.3:10-12) until regeneration (Jn.1:12-13). This is how a person becomes His child. When they realise they are helpless sinners before Him. And Christ had to die on the cross to pay the penalty for sin (1 Cor.1:18). They humbly pray the sinners-prayer, seeking forgiveness and inviting Christ into their heart. At conversion they become as a new born baby – a new creation – and start to grow by feeding on the bible and Christian fellowship. They have a personal relationship with God through Christ. Only now they can live to please Him. Without this new birth nothing you do pleases God.

Mormonism poisons you against this truth. It denies the blood of Jesus shed on the cross for our sins and mocks the cross. It rejects God’s gift of salvation by grace bought by the death of Jesus on the cross.

>>"Why does it deny every fundamental doctrine of the Christian religion?" Please list these fundamental doctrines that my faith denies. An emphasis on fundamental, meaning all the 'Christian' faiths should agree on them. <<

The list is long and differences huge. Already listed a few, but you will ignore MY '
list'. Do you care, is this a side-track? Trying to avoid the fact you were wrong - The bible and the Book of Mormon are NOT the same after all. If sincere, why don’t you list 'every fundamental doctrine' of “all the Christian faiths” not denied by Mormonism.

Do you honestly NOT know Mormonism insists all churches are wrong? All their creeds are an abomination in God's sight, all their teachers corrupt? The Pearl of Great Price says: "...they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt…" (Joseph Smith, 2:19) If you seriously want me to list the above, let me know.

>>Finally, to address your concerns with Galatians 1:8, please define the gospel as referenced in this verse. I think because it mentions an angel you are automatically applying it to Moroni. However, that verse is concerned with an "other gospel", not with angels per se. Thus, you will need to explain what is meant by 'gospel' before deciding whether an 'other' has been delivered. There is no proscription in those verses of the same gospel being delivered by an angel. Kind Regards, Jared.<<

So I explain: The TRUE gospel is not ‘Mormon ceremonies’, its defined by PAUL (Gal.2:16-21 3:2, 6-14, 26. 6:14 and Rom.1:16 5:6-8). It’s revealed in the New Testament. But in Galatians 1 Paul refers to ‘another’ or perverted gospel (Gal.1:7) and even if that is transmitted by the highest form possible - an ANGEL from heaven (or apostle) then THEY should be rejected or cursed.

But though we, or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than that which WE have preached to you, let him be accursed."

Mormonism has its origin from an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN (Moroni) bringing another gospel. There is no angel Moroni in the bible. So, such an angel must be cursed, this includes Mormonism.

Interesting how the bible provides everything needed to live a true holy life. It guards, warns, guides, protects, gives wisdom, comfort, truth etc. Everything for God’s people that is. And we are forewarned of the coming of Joseph Smith and his deception. Mormonism has another gospel. And you need to explain why you think it’s the same as found in the bible. I look forward.

Kind regards
Mark
