Hi Roland,

Thanks for the email. I see you draw back from calling me 'dishonest' (thank you). I just repeated what Mormon leaders said and their official documents.

Although you have skipped some of my comments without explanation. And insist even more strongly 'black people' are not discriminated against by the Mormon Church. It's really quite an issue for you, but not something I'm worried about. What Mormon's think about 'black people' is not really a problem for me.

You might "
discontinue our discussion' because my statements are "a complete fabrication" and you insist if I "wish to continue the discussion" I must quote only "documents from outside the Church". Well I'm sorry, I should have realized this issue is very close to you. I'm happy to avoid unconfirmed documents that might say unconfirmed things.

Allow me then to go straight to the most important matter. I don't find Mormon 'belief' really creditable. Why? Because I believe God has revealed to mankind everything we need to know about the most important issue - that is, how we can be made right with God and receive eternal life.

What Christ did on the cross for me, by paying the price for my sins is what the bible is all about -

" For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life". (Jn 3:16)

" For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believes for with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says, Whoever believes on him shall not be put to shame". (Rom.10:4,10-13)

Obviously from these verses the bible says salvation is a gift to be received, not a merit to be earned. The bible points out that our faith should be in Christ alone for salvation. Can you see that?

Since I'm cleansed from sin (Acts 11:15) put right with God (Rom.3:26 4:5, 5:17) and given salvation (Eph.1:13) why should I worry about what Mormonism might (or might not) say about 'black people'?

I can't see how there is salvation from God any other way. Every religion under the sun has its prophets, and their followers all feel they are true, but they all disagree. Christ dying on the cross for me was something God has done. I can put my trust in what He has done, far more than what I feel. The bible makes it perfectly clear

" For by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory" (Eph. 2:8-9).

So why study the religions in the world (Mormonism included) when God has answered the main problem already and its declared in His Word?

Regards
Mark
